      Introduction to the Bone

Roll over the skeleton below to learn the names of some of the bones in the human skeleton.

Every single person has a skeleton, made up of lots of bones - 206 of them to be exact! These bones keep your body in the right shape, help you move the way you do, and protect the organs that make the rest of your body work. If you didn't have bones, you would just be a pile of mush on the ground!

Bones are a very important part of your body, so let's learn about them by clicking on one of the links below:

      • Normal Bone Growth - How bone grows along with you while you are growing up. This would be a good place to start learning!
      • Bone Fractures - How bones break, and what happens to them when they do.
      • Treatment Today - How doctors fix broken bones and help cure other bone diseases.
      • Regenerative Medicine - How regenerative medicine helps bone heal faster and better.
