Dual Program : PBPMP / MHMS
Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program (PBPMP) / Master's of Health Management Systems (MHMS)
This dual program allows students to complete or enhance the academic credentials needed for medical school, while simultaneously completing a master’s degree in Health Management Systems. As the healthcare environment changes, healthcare practitioners will face challenges with information technology, finance, and regulations. Health Management Systems combines the disciplines of health sciences, business, and computers to give graduates multiple skills to work within the complex and changing healthcare environment.
The first year of the dual program is science-intensive, consisting of three science courses (either general or advanced) and one non-science course each semester. This non-science course would be chosen from the MHMS course offerings. During the second year, the curriculum is health management systems-intensive, but still allows the student to complete any additional science courses needed.
Students must apply and be accepted to both the PBPMP and MHMS programs. The application fee for the MHMS program will be waived if students acknowledge that they have applied to the PBPMP. To receive further information about the MHMS program, please call 412.396.5653.
