Boarding School will covers all of the fantastic content from The Leadership Academy while adding topics that boards and board members ask for most often. Not only are we going to answer all of your board governance questions, but we’re going to do it in a way that will be most convenient for you.
We know you’re busier than ever! That’s why Boarding School is offered as two half-day sessions rather than one full day. Each session begins at 8:00am and wraps up at 11:30am to allow people to be back in their office by noon. Boarding School Freshman Year covers the “nuts and bolts” of serving on a nonprofit board. Students are introduced to the nonprofit sector, basic roles and responsibilities of nonprofit boards, legal obligations of nonprofit board members, and other important aspects of nonprofit governance. Boarding School Sophomore Year delves into board development, what boards should know about fundraising and ethical decision making. You can take one or both of the classes in any order you wish.
We also know that financial times are tougher than ever (especially for nonprofits)! The NLI is committed to inspiring excellence in nonprofit leadership and we want all nonprofit board members to be able to attend Boarding School. That’s why we’ve lowered the price! Each session of Boarding School is only $50. And if you bring more than one person from your organization it is just $35 per person!
