Published in the journals, The World of Music and Encounter: A Journal of African Life and Religion. Frequent scholarly presentations on women, music and dance at several chapter gatherings and at annual conferences of the Society for Ethnomusicology. Recipient, Andrew W. Mellon Pre-Doctoral Fellowship, University of Pittsburgh, 2005; Hewitt Pantaleoni Best Student Paper Award, Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Society for Ethnomusicology (MACSEM), 2004.

Research interests include the exploration of the cultural and gender perspectives in traditional African music and dance, African continuities in the diaspora, particularly Haiti (the Caribbean), cross-cultural issues, and religious/sacred music with a focus on Gregorian Chant. Formerly, Teaching Fellow and Part-time Instructor, University of Pittsburgh; Adjunct faculty, Carlow University, Pittsburgh. Performances as soloist with the Schola Cantorum, Pontificio Istituto di Musica Sacra in Italy, Luxemburg, Prague, and France.
