INTRODUCTION
The Foundations of Successful Leadership program is designed to provide a professional development opportunity for the University’s most valuable resource – its employees. Participants will:
PROGRAM DESIGN
The program consists of seven comprehensive sessions designed to provide both practical knowledge and the leadership-skill building to create a positive working environment. The seven sessions are offered within two cohorts, Spring and Fall academic terms. Enrollment in each session will be limited to 25 participants for each cohort. All sessions will be scheduled for half days in order to accommodate work schedules and participants must commit to attending all seven sessions. A certificate will be issued upon completion of the program.
OUTCOMES
The Foundations of Successful Leadership program will assist and enhance employees in new ways of thinking about achieving their goals in today’s workplace. All managers need to be “self-leaders,” that is, individuals who take the initiative and work productively with others to achieve organizational goals. For this reason leadership concepts should be at the core of each session. Further, individuals learn best when the concepts are integrated into their actual work experiences. The Foundations of Successful Leadership is designed so that managers can “learn, practice and apply” their leadership skills – all in an effort to support the mission of the University.
PRICING AND REGISTRATION
The fee for participants will be $250 per person and will include program materials and continental breakfast each session. Employees must complete all seven sessions in order to receive a certificate. Registration is through the DU Training Tracker.
Please note: Banner budget account information is required to register for the program.
MAKE-UP SESSIONS
If any session is missed, there is a one-year time frame to make up the missing session. Participants are required to verify their missed sessions through the DU Training Tracker, then register for that session in the next cohort offering.
