Duquesne University's Executive Certificate in Financial Planning program has been designed for professionals in the brokerage, insurance, accounting, banking, and related industries. Whether you are new to the financial services industry or a seasoned financial services professional, this program is designed to be equally beneficial.
An outstanding faculty presents the material in a manner that is clear, concise and understandable. The program will focus on the technical aspects, practical application, ethics and professionalism of financial planning. The topics covered by this program are:
Upon successful completion of Duquesne University's Executive Certificate in Financial Planning program, students will receive a certificate of completion from Duquesne University. Duquesne University is registered with Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. Students who successfully complete the certificate program will be eligible to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination.
Graduates of Duquesne University's Executive Certificate in Financial Planning may receive three academic credits towards a graduate degree in the School of Leadership and Professional Advancement.
Location and Class Times: Students can expect to complete the program in nine (9) months. Courses are offered in Pittsburgh at Duquesne University's main campus. Classes are held Friday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 8:35 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every other weekend.
Tuition: Cost for the six-course curriculum is $4700, plus books and materials (approximately $1,200). A 10% deposit is required at time of acceptance. The balance of the tuition must be received one week prior to the first class. Books are not included in the tuition. You should budget approximately $1200 for books.
Group Discount: A discount of 10% will be instituted for any company sending 5 or more employees. Thus, for those 5 or more employees from a single firm, the tuition adjustment would be $4230.

The Executive Certificate in Financial Planning program is approved by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Insurance Department to award continuing education insurance credits in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Continuing Education Program. The program is also approved with the Department of Accountancy to award continuing education credits for CPA’s (Certified Public Accounts).
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. owns the marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM, and CFP (with flame logo)®, which it awards to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements.
