International Relations

The International Relations major educates students in the historical, political, and cultural forces that shape the interactions between states, international organizations, multi-national corporations, and other international actors.

In recent decades, the forces of globalization have increased awareness of the interdependent and inter-related nature of modern society. A commitment to promoting peace and justice in global society is essential to the mission of Duquesne and the Spiritans. 

Career Options

Students majoring in international relations have a variety of career paths open to them.

  • Graduate study in international relations
  • Work in a governmental, social, or business organizations that operate in an international context.
  • With training in advanced language skills, historical and political knowledge, international relations majors are very competitive in the job market.
